Mafas Raheem

Mafas Raheem is a Senior Lecturer at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation of Malaysia. He received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences majoring in Computer Science (BSc) in 2007 and a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2016. Further, he obtained his master’s degree in Data Science & Business Analytics (MSc) in 2018. Currently, he is enrolled for a PhD in computing, specialising in the field of Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation of Malaysia. Since 2009, he has been a lecturer and then a senior lecturer in the field of computing and Business IT for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. From 2022, he is working as a senior lecturer at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation of Malaysia. He conducted several corporate training programs for a significant number of companies which includes OCBC and Crystal, Malaysia. He actively take part and won many international & national level awards in data mining competitions by mentoring his students including America and Germany. He has published more than 15 research papers in ISI, WOS and Scopus-indexed journals and more than 30 other indexed journal articles focusing on the field of data mining and business analytics, especially in the domain of retail business. His current research interests include natural language processing, using machine/deep learning and artificial intelligence for eCommerce.
