Luigia Nicholas

Luigia Nicholas is the marketing and training coordinator at the Disability Unit in the Centre for Student Counselling and Development at Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape, South Africa. She completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Disability and Rehabilitation studies in 2022 and her Bachelors of Commerce degree in Business Management at Stellenbosch University (SU) in 2019. She is a disability and inclusion advocate who is passionate about creating awareness on disability related issues. She is a Steering Group Member at the International Collaboratory for Leadership in Universally Designed Education as well as a management committee member of Changeability, an organisation that assist people with disabilities in the community. Luigia was the South African Representative for the Global Disability Youth Network and an advisory group member for the Leonard Cheshire, United Nations Girls Education Initiative and World Bank Joint Report on Gender, Disability and Education. She was a National Executive Committee member and the Chairperson of the Committee for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the South African Union of Students in 2022 and the previous Special Needs Manager on the Student Representatives Council for 2019 until 202l at SU.
