Loga Devi Balla Soupramanien

Loga Devi Balla Soupramanien is a Senior Lecturer in Law and academic researcher at the Curtin Mauritius, Charles Telfair Campus. With more than 10 years of experience in academia, she teaches across various programs ranging from TAFE Certificate and Diploma courses, BBML, BBA, and BCom degrees. Loga holds a PhD in Law from the Open University of Mauritius, an LLM in International Business Law from the University of Central Lancashire (UK) and a BA (Hons) in Law and Management from the University of Mauritius. She is a member of the Society of Legal Scholars (UK) and an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She joined the Charles Telfair Campus in 2014 as a Lecturer in Law and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2020. Her doctoral thesis investigated the failure of conventional anti-money laundering in curtailing emerging money laundering typologies. She has also collaborated on research projects relating to graduate work readiness, service learning, financial independence of women and gender-based violence. Her main areas of research include financial crime regulation and gender studies.
