Leesha Nicole Roberts

Leesha Roberts is an Assistant Professor at the Center of Education Programmes at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. With twenty-two years of experience in education and computing, she currently leads as the Discipline Leader for Educational Technology and Instructional Design subjects for the University's undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Her research focuses on ICT integration in the Caribbean and Management Information Systems (MIS), where she supervises postgraduate students' research in these areas. She began her career in the public service, particularly at the Ministry of Education, from 2002 to 2006, where her responsibilities included leading projects to implement technology-based solutions. Her work involved acquiring, evaluating, and implementing ICTs in primary schools throughout Trinidad and Tobago, designing and developing the initial Ministry's website, and re-engineering the I.T. unit to align with the government's Vision 2020 Plan. She also contributed to database design and implementation, processing local examinations, and the ICT Help Desk for the Ministry of Education. She has also participated in various Ministry of Education international and regional programmes such as PIRLS, TIMSS, and Microsoft Partners in Learning. Additionally, Leesha has trained staff and lectured extensively on various ICT-related subjects at institutions like the National Energy Skill Center, COSTAATT, and The University of the West Indies Global Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Education focused on ICT integration and instructional design. Her work aims to equip students with the necessary technology integration skills for teaching and learning while contributing to research in ICT integration at the educational level in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean.
