Laura Marie Karns

Laura Karns , Ed.D. is a secondary school counselor at Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School. Karns services high school students in grades 9-12 by supporting their individualized academic, personal, and career goals. Prior to joining Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School, Karns taught secondary English in public and charter schools in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She earned her Master of Counseling Services with a concentration in School Counseling at Rider University where she also worked as a graduate assistant at Rider University's Counseling Center delivering mental health programming and outreach services to undergraduate students. Karns's doctoral studies at Monmouth University focused on the influence of Title I funding on college enrollment patterns. Her research interests include topics of college and career readiness, family and community engagement, and educational equity.
