Justina S. Brown

Justina Brown , M.Ed, has supported faculty at Western Washington University for over 23 years. She is a senior instructional designer in Academic Technology as part of the Learning Systems team and directs the Center for Instructional Innovation, WWU’s teaching and learning center. She leads faculty professional development efforts, creates online resources related to best practices and teaching excellence, engages in ADEI initiatives, promotes free textbook alternatives, and encourages faculty uses of innovations in their teaching. Justina taught a first-year seminar for 20 years, published the WWU Innovative Teaching Showcase since 1999, and since before the pandemic, has collaborated with a small, cross-departmental team of instructional designers and technologists who form WWU’s Teaching and Learning Cooperative.
