João Sérgio Ribeiro has a PhD in Public Law (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), Master of Laws (The London School of Economics and Political Science), Bachelor of Laws (Portuguese Catholic University). He has also attended the Advanced Course in Tax Treaties at the International Tax Center Leiden (Leiden University). Member of the Scientific Council of the Portuguese Tax Association. Member of the directive board of the Master’s Degree in Tax Law (University of Minho). Member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). Member of the Academic Council of the Revista Direito Tributário Atual do Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Tributário (IBDT) and member of the Editorial Board of the Revista Direito Tributário Internacional Atual do Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Tributário (IBDT) .
