Jay Barbre

James Barbre III is an associate professor of education at Indiana University East. Beginning his career in education teaching middle level and intermediate grades, he assumed a role in higher education with the focus of teaching toward the relevance and importance of pragmatism and inclusivity. While he has taught across a broad range of topics, his primary focus is the social foundations of education and multiculturalism. His research interests are varied and address numerous areas of teacher preparation and student learning. He has published in areas of graphic novels and their uses across education, action research in student teaching, community and civic involvement for teachers and students, and international relations as they influence student learning.
