Imkongtenla Pongen

Imkongtenla Pongen [MA (English), MSc (Anthropology), PhD (Anthropology)] is currently working as a Researcher in the Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Kolkata. She has taught postgraduate course in anthropology and post-graduate diploma in occupational health at IGNOU. Her research work involves human growth and development, lifestyle diseases, nutritional status, psychosocial stress, personality types, body composition, physical activity and its related health outcome among different population groups of India, maternal and child health, reproductive health, adolescent health and genetic epidemiology. She has actively participated in seminars, workshops and conferences held at national and international level and has worked in varied academic research projects of organizations of national repute. Her publications includes 16 papers and and 1 book. She has an experience of 11 years in research and 7 years in teaching. She is a member of national and international bodies.
