ilkay Ulutaş

Ilkay Ulutaş received an undergraduate degree in the Child Development and Education Teaching program at Gazi University. She completed her master's degree in child development at Ankara University and her PhD in Child Development and Education at Gazi University. In 2009, she conducted a postdoctoral study on emotional intelligence at the University College London Department of Psychology within the scope of the TUBITAK Scientist Support Department International Postdoctoral Research Scholarship Program. Her studies focus on the emotional intelligence in preschool children, Montessori education, mathematics education in early childhood education, arts in early childhood education, early childhood quality, and technology in early childhood education. She has also recently carried out projects on digital mathematics stories in early childhood education, augmented reality applications in early childhood mathematics education, and cultural heritage and technology (coding, digital storytelling) in early childhood education. She currently works as a professor at the Early Childhood Education Department at Gazi University. She received her PhD in early childhood education at Gazi University in 2005. She did post-doctoral studies at the Trait Emotional Intelligence laboratory of K. V. Petrides in 2009 at University College London. Her research interest focuses mainly on emotional intelligence in early childhood. She also has studies on early childhood quality, visual arts education in early childhood, mathematics education in early childhood, and Montessori education. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses as a professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education at Gazi University. She also participates in international conferences and carries out various national projects.
