Helen Hodgson

Helen Hodgson is an expert in Taxation, based at the Curtin Law School. Her research is in the areas where tax and social policy intersect: superannuation; housing and inequality. Helen holds qualifications in accounting, business law and taxation and has been teaching taxation law in business and law schools since 1989. She has contributed significantly to policy review in the areas of superannuation, the tax and transfer system and housing, specifically examining these systems through a gender lens. In 2019 Helen was awarded a Provost Fellowship at Curtin University to identify the effects that career breaks have on staff; benchmark policies against other universities and make recommendations to address the negative effects of career breaks. She is a Director of the National Foundation for Australian Women and Chair of its Social Policy Committee.
