Gwendolyn P. Shannon

Gwendolyn Shannon is an innovative and transformational leader with global experiences that have enabled her to steer diverse educational communities. She has served in the educational field for almost three decades, where she worked as the Chief School Administrator for almost twenty years in areas often described as nonmetropolitan or exurban. She has been hailed as a superintendent who does remarkable work in rural districts or districts in need of improvement. Dr. Shannon is a stalwart leader whose commitment to staff, parents, and the community is only superseded by her dedication to students. She lives the motto student first, last, and always with each decision as she works to find ways to recognize the success of each student and those in charge of their instructional experience. Dr. Shannon's educational background reflects her personal and professional commitment to learning and growing. She has earned a doctorate in education administration and leadership, a master’s degree in natural science, an educational specialist degree, and an undergraduate degree in microbiology and chemistry.
