G. M. Rakibul Islam

G. M. Rakibul Islam has been working as an Assistant Professor of Education at the Department of Educational Administration at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) of Bangladesh since 2019, where his work focuses on developing education administrators, managers, and leaders for Bangladesh and beyond. He is also working as the Chairman (Acting) of the department at NSTU and Assistant Director at the Research Cell of NSTU. Prior to joining NSTU in 2019, he spent more than seven years in academia and government agency, where he taught, conducted research, designed, and managed education projects and developed teachers’ capacity. He worked at government Teachers’ Training College, a2i Program of The Prime Minister’s Office, TQI Project, Ministry of Education and British Council Bangladesh. Mr. Islam holds an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Manchester, UK with Equity and Merit Scholarship, and he completed his graduation and postgraduate in Education from the Institute of Education and Research (IER) of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mr. Islam has published multiple articles in national and international journals and book chapters on educational issues. He also serves as an Education Advisor of Alokito Hridoy Foundation, Bangladesh; Advisor (Advocacy and Impact) of Project Rangeet, India; Education Advisor of Light of Hope, Bangladesh; and Director of Institute of Child and Human Development (ICHD), Bangladesh. He is an Acumen Fellow of Bangladesh Cohort of 2020, Fellow of Youth Policy Forum in 2023, Co-founder of Bangladesh Education Forum and Core Team Member of a global platform for education called #NextGenEdu. In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Islam is a dedicated community leader, having established and managed a community library in his village called “Biddakanon Gonogronthagar” for several years.
