Evangelos Athanassopoulos

Evangelos Athanassopoulos is a Chemical Engineer and Topographer of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, as well as an independent researcher in the area of Philosophy of Science. He used to work for ten years as manager of the service department of the Hellenic Labware, a commercial company of chemical and medical instruments. Since 1995 he has been involved in the chemical analysis of wines driving forward the technology of this sector. Among others, Evangelos constructed an innovative hydrostatic balance of high accuracy connected to the proper software for measuring the alcoholic degree, as well as a modern glass-made plate distillatory supplied with a sophisticated reflux system. He has also proposed corrections and improvements for the international rules of examining the quality of wine (OIV). Since 1995 he has published articles in local newspapers and in social media on a variety of scientific topics. Started from 2005, he is the author of three books on human intelligence and logic and of a number of papers published in reputed international journals . His research interests are currently focused on applications of Probability, Statistics and Fuzzy Logic to philosophy and morals.
