Elva Esther Vargas-Martínez

Elva Vargas-Martínez has a PhD in Environmental Sciences, master’s in administration, Specialist in Psych pedagogical Strategies, and Bachelor in Tourism. Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Tourism and Gastronomy of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. Her research focuses on the administrative studies of tourism, with its knowledge application extending to the tourism sector broadly and specifically to the hospitality industry. Her inquiries delve into novel forms of management and organizational leadership, exploring themes such as innovation, sustainability, social responsibility, environmental management, and intelligent organizations. She oversees research projects in technological development, encompassing topics like eco-innovation, technological surveillance, competitive intelligence, intelligent organizations, and entrepreneurship. Teaching across undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, she leads the Latin American Network for Action Research on Competitiveness, Innovation, and Sustainability in the Tourism Industry (RELICISET, by its initials in Spanish). Within Mexico, she holds the position of Level 2 member in the National System of Researchers (CONAHCyT).
