Didem Koban Koç

Didem Koban Koç is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education/Department of Foreign Languages Education at İzmir Democracy University, İzmir, Türkiye. She is also the Department Chair. She received a Ph.D. degree in Linguistics from the City University of New York, USA, an M.A. degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from New York University, USA, and a B.A. degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) from Middle East Technical University, Türkiye. She taught in a variety of institutions such as the City University of New York, Pace University, the College of New Rochelle in the United States and Hacettepe University in Türkiye. She gave lectures in Denmark, Germany, Italy and Poland via the Erasmus+ staff mobility program. Her research interests are bilingualism/multilingualism, sociolinguistics and teacher education. She has numerous publications in these areas.
