Deborah Romero

Deborah Romero is a professor of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Northern Colorado. She specializes in teaching and learning with pre-service and in-service teachers in the field of CLD and Bilingual Education. Her research interests focus on teacher preparation, language and literacy development in multilingual contexts, learning and identity, and draw on qualitative research methodologies. She is also interested in equity issues, Latinos and culturally and linguistically diverse populations, sociocultural theories, as well as engaged teaching and learning. She has published in English and Spanish and presented at numerous national and international educational conferences.
