D. Sugumar

D. Sugumar is an Associate Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed University) with teaching experience of 20 years. He has received the B.E. degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Bharathiar University, M.E. degree in Communication Systems from Anna University, Chennai, Ph.D degree in Information and Communication Engineering, Anna University, PGP in AI and ML from The University of Texas at Austin and Master of Data Sciences from Deakin University, Australia. Research interest includes 1) Blind Source Separation, 2) AI-ML based Signal Processing and 5G communication and 3) Wearables, Flexible & Metamaterial based Antennas for RF/Wireless Communication and medical applications. He is a life member of AMIE, ISTE, IAENG, IACSIT and Senior member of IEEE (Signal Processing Society, Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, & Antenna & Propagation Society). He has published 49 national and international conferences papers and 38 journal articles. (Out of that 43- Scopus/WOS indexed articles). He also authored 3 books, 6 book chapters and filed 3 Patents. He has received the best teacher award in the year 2010, innovative professional award in the year 2016, Dedicated faculty international a6ward in the year 2017 and young achiever Award in the year 2019. He has contributed as a reviewer for the Interscience and Elsevier Journals. He has organized several workshops, trainings, guest lectures and seminars, also has contributed as a chair person and resource person in various international conferences, Workshops, Add on programs and seminars. Doing RF & Antenna Design Consultancy for the past 8 Years and generated fund 3.0 Lakhs. He was the PI and Co-PI for 7 different seed money projects funded by government and non-government agencies.
