Carol A. Mullen

Carol A. MullenCarol A. Mullen , PhD, is a tenured Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. Dr. Mullen is a J. William Fulbright Senior Scholar alumnus and former editor of Mentoring & Tutoring. A pedagogical researcher in educational leadership, teacher development, and mentoring, she applies policy, justice, and equity lenses within international and national contexts. She has authored or edited 28 academic books, including the Handbook of Social Justice Interventions in Education (2021, edited, Springer) and The Risky Business of Education Policy (2022, coedited, Routledge). Her publishing record includes over 240 book chapters and articles in high-impact journals. The University of Toronto honored her with the 2020 Excellence Award, an OISE Leaders and Legends Award. Other prestigious accolades include the 2022 Master Professor Award and the 2016 Jay D. Scribner Mentoring Award from the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). Currently, she is President of the UCEA and Immediate Past-President of the Society of Professors of Education. Her PhD is from the University of Toronto, Canada.
