Berke Andic

Berke Andic is a lecturer of English for Academic Purposes, working at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait, as part of the Liberal Arts Department. Having graduated with a B. Ed. in English Language Teaching from Yeditepe University, she obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Oxford in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition in 2015. After this, she taught as a kindergarten and primary school teacher in Turkey. In 2017, she moved to Kuwait and started working as a lecturer in the English Preparatory Program at AUM. A year later she transferred to the Writing Center and has since been a consultant, guiding students on their academic writing journeys. Along with this, she has taught English for Academic Purposes, Communication, and Research and Technology courses within the Liberal Arts Department. Growing up in the United Kingdom, she is a Turkish-English bilingual, which fuels her research interest in linguistics and bilingualism. Her further research interests include teaching English as a second language, cross-linguistic influence, syntax-grammar, academic writing, and learning strategies.
