Berenice Alfaro-Ponce

Berenice Alfaro Ponce has a degree in Social Sciences from the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH). During her doctorate she did a research stay as an ERASMUS scholar at the University of Łódź in the MISEAL project, her master's degree in Human Rights and Democracy by FLACSO. She is a member of the National System of Researchers level 1. Her research experience has focused on the topic of Education and Interculturality, Technology, Transnationalism and Public Policy and with this last topic she was awarded for her co-authorship with the International Award for Excellence in interdisciplinary Social Sciences 2022 granted by The Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Journal Collection. She currently holds a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Research on Obesity at the Tecnológico de Monterrey where she collaborates on several projects: Food Policies with UNICEF (which was awarded and assigned in September 2023), Digital Health with Elcano Foundation and works on food systems issues where she is interested in using the citizen science and community science approach as a participatory methodology for the analysis of the different actors. She is also a founding member of the Network for Research and Cooperation in Intercultural Studies (RICEI) and collaborates as a member of the Mexican Network for the Development and Incorporation of Educational Technologies in Latin America (RED LATe).
