Ben W. Walker

Ben W. Walker is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Development at the Oxford Centre for Academic Enhancement and Development at Oxford Brookes University where he supports colleagues to gain Advance HE fellowship, delivers staff development, contributes to the university’s oversight of personal tutoring and undertakes educational research projects. Previously holding positions at the University of Lincoln, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Derby, he has supported a wide range of trainee teachers and existing practitioners. A keen writer and researcher in education with over 20 years’ experience in teaching and teacher education, he is committed to developing the field of academic and pastoral support of students further. As a co-author of practitioner texts and journal articles on personal tutoring/academic advising, he is at the forefront of professional development and research in this area and is committed to developing it further.
