Balaji Mahadevan

M. Balaji , Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has 19 years of teaching and research experience. He received his B.E (EEE) degree first class with distinction from Annamalai University, M.E. Power Electronics and Drives (Anna University 5th Rank) from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Anna University and Ph.D in the area of Special Electrical Machines from Anna University. He has published 40 papers in international journals and around 50 papers in national and international conferences. He has coordinated a National level conference, National level Workshops and has delivered guest lectures at various conferences and workshops. He is a recognized supervisor for Anna University. He is currently guiding 4 Ph.D scholars working on Design and Control aspects of Electrical Machines, Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Power Converters. Seven scholars have completed Ph.D under his guidance. He has completed DST -SERB project titled “Design and Development of Hybrid Switched Reluctance Motor Drive”,2015-18, Rs 22.9 Lakhs under Fast track scheme for young scientist. He is the co-principal investigator for the project titled “Design and Development of Permanent Magnet Assisted Reluctance Motor Drives for Pump Application funded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) worth Rs 21,18,978/-.
