Ann Hazzard

Ann Hazzard , PhD, is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor Emeritus at Emory University School of Medicine. As a faculty member, Dr. Hazzard provided child assessment and treatment services, mostly to marginalized families at a large urban hospital. She published over 30 journal articles in the areas of trauma treatment and prevention, pediatric psychology, and promotion of children’s literacy. Since retirement, Dr. Hazzard has co-authored three children’s picture books designed to help families talk about challenging current events. The Something Happened series, published by Magination Press (an imprint of the American Psychological Association) includes compassionate stories about racial injustice, community gun violence, immigration and family separation, and climate change. Dr. Hazzard has been a board member of several community nonprofits and continues to actively promote family well-being and social justice.
