IJITSA Members Mourn the Passing of Distinguished International Researcher and Associate Journal Editor, Professor Miroljub Kljajic

International Journal of Information Technologies and Systems Approach With heavy hearts, the International Journal of Information Technologies and Systems Approach (IJITSA) Editorial Team would like to share with the greater academic community the recent passing of the honorable Professor Dr. Miroljub Kljajic. Professor Kljajic was a distinguished international researcher in the topics of System Dynamics and DMSS, an excellent collaborator and co-founder of IJITSA. He organized the traditional International Symposium on Simulation Based Decision Support and Business Intelligence in Baden-Baden, Germany, for several years.

Miroljub Kljajic was an Emeritus Professor of Theory of Systems and Modeling and Simulation at the Faculty for Organization Sciences in Kranj, Slovenia. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1970 where also he obtained his M.Sc. in 1972 and his D.Sc. degree in 1974. Since 1976, he was employed by the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Kranj in the field of System Theory, Cybernetics, Computer Simulation, and Decision Theory. He obtained the rank of Professor in 1986. His main research field was methods of modeling and simulation of complex systems. He was author of two books on the Theory of Systems and Discrete Event Simulation. He published over 200 scientific articles, with over of 40 included in JCR. He was the recipient of four awards for the best papers in international conferences and received three recognitions for achievements in the field of decision support systems. He was a member of the research team that received the Prize of the Boris Kidric Fund in 1976 and the Prize for Innovations and Improvements in 1984. For his successes in engineering pedagogical work he received the Golden Medal of the University of Maribor, Slovenia.
