Fuzzy Logic-Based Modeling in Collaborative and Blended Learning The evolution of all the existing technological resources is far from being available to everyone. In today’s information and knowledge society, digital illiteracy is a means to social exclusion, which is worth our full attention. Nowadays, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play an important role in everyday life. In this way, concerns of social inclusion should be embedded within ICT development in order to provide inclusive solutions that promote equal rights and opportunities for all.

The 10th International Conference on Digital Exclusion in the Information and Knowledge Society (SEMIME 2016) aims to promote the discussion and sharing of knowledge that contributes to the fight against info-exclusion, and to favor accessibility to ICTs.

Held January 29th -30th 2016 at the Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, this conference will feature a Keynote presentation by IGI Global Editor Leontios J. Hadjileontiadis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece).

Professor Hadjileontiadis is co-Editor of the title Fuzzy Logic-Based Modeling in Collaborative and Blended Learning, along with Dr. Sofia J. Hadjileontiadou (Hellenic Open University, Greece), Dr. Sofia B. Dias (Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal) and Professor José A. Diniz (Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal). This premier reference monograph presents key research on educational data analysis and modeling through the integration of research on advanced modeling techniques, educational technologies, fuzzy concept maps, hybrid modeling, neuro-fuzzy learning management systems, and quality of interaction.

Dr. Sofia B. Dias and Professor José A. Diniz will be in attendance the the event as well. More on SEMIME 2016 here: http://www.fmh.ulisboa.pt/semimelisboa/. Also view conference details on IGI Global's Calendar of Events.

Despite increasing acceptance and legalization of cannabis in some US states, disparities persist in federal marijuana laws, exacerbated by the Biden administration's classification of cannabis as a Schedule I drug. This inconsistency leads to unfair penalties in the criminal justice system, where individuals in legal states can still face federal prosecution.
