IGI Global Awards the 2013 InfoSci®-Journals Distinguished Fellowship to Dr. Donald Albert

International Journal of Applied Geospatial Research (IJAGR)Hershey, PA – December 16, 2013– IGI Global, an international publishing company specializing in high-quality research publications in the fields of computer science and information technology management, is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2013 InfoSci®-Journals Distinguished Fellowship: Dr. Don Albert, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Applied Geospatial Research. The InfoSci®-Journals Distinguished Fellowship is an annual initiative to recognize an editor-in-chief for enriching the information science community through the dissemination of innovative research and excellent leadership in journal compilation.

In order to qualify for this honor, an editor-in-chief must exhibit a record of success in raising citation, visibility, and scholarship of their journal. They must also secure an adequate quantity of submissions from leading authors and publish each journal issue on a timely basis. In addition, the fellowship honors exceptional work in gaining recognition of the journal in top indices.

Established in 2010, the International Journal of Applied Geospatial Research (IJAGR) publishes research that exemplifies the usage of geographic information science and technology (GIS&T) to explore and resolve geographical issues from various application domains within the social and/or physical sciences. IJAGR is designed to provide planners and policy analysts, practitioners, academicians, and others using GIS&T useful studies that might support decision-making activities. IJGAR has been referenced in major indices such as Scopus, ACM Digital Library, DBLP, INSPEC, and more.

Dr. Donald Patrick Albert, of Sam Houston State University, is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Applied Geospatial Research (IJAGR), established in 2010. As the Editor-in-Chief of IJAGR, Dr. Albert has published ground-breaking work in the area of geospatial research, leading to indexation in prestigious indices like Scopus and ACM Digital Library. Dr. Albert has also been integral in testing and providing feedback for IGI Global’s newly developed Journal Online Submission System (JOSS). We thank Dr. Albert for his tireless efforts on IJAGR and on behalf of IGI Global.
