EconLit Recognizes IGI Global Journals

By IGI Global on Aug 25, 2011
Two of IGI Global's esteemed journals, the International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences (IJSDS) (Editor-in-Chief: Madjid Tavana, La Salle University, USA) and the International Journal of Enterprise Information Systems (IJEIS) (Editor-in-Chief: Madjid Tavana, La Salle University, USA), were recently selected for inclusion in The American Economic Association's electronic bibliography, EconLit. The bibliography indexes more than forty years of economics literature from around the world. Compiled and abstracted in an easily searchable format, EconLit is a comprehensive index of journal articles, books, book reviews, collective volume articles, working papers, and dissertations.

IGI Global is proud to have IJSDS and IJEIS indexed in the prestigious EconLit. The hard work of Dr. Madjid Tavana, the Editor-in-Chief of both journals, along with the editorial board members of and contributing authors to both journals, is recognized as essential to this tremendous achievement. EconLit is available at libraries and on university Web sites throughout the world, licensed from information service providers, who provide search engines, links to libraries' full-text subscriptions, and other enhancements to assist users in document retrieval. The vast amount of information that must be considered when solving inherently ill-structured and complex strategic problems creates a need for corresponding tools. These tools and techniques are necessary to help decision makers recognize the complexity of this process and develop a rational model for strategy evaluation. The International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences (IJSDS) is a double-blind refereed journal whose focus is to promote the infusion of strategic decision making with analytical methods. IJSDS distinguishes itself as a business journal with an explicit focus on analytical strategic decision- making. The journal provides a publication vehicle for theoretical and empirical research, as well as real world applications and case studies. Papers published in IJSDS should not only meet high standards of research rigor and originality in decision sciences, but also embrace strategic decision -making. For more information on IJSDS, visit www.igi-global.com/ijsds.

Global markets and competition have forced companies to operate in a physically distributed environment to take advantage of the benefits of strategic alliances between partnering firms. Earlier, information systems such as Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) have widely been used for functional integration within an organization. With global operations in place, there is a need for suitable Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and E-Commerce (EC) for the integration of extended enterprises along the supply chain with the objective of achieving flexibility and responsiveness. The International Journal of Enterprise Information Systems (IJEIS) is a double-blind refereed journal with a focus on filling the growing demand for research and applications that will provide insights into issues, challenges, and solutions related to the successful applications and management aspects of EIS. For more information on IJEIS, visit www.igi-global.com/ijeis.
