Mitchell Alan Kaplan

Mitchell Alan Kaplan is a certified professional sociological practitioner in New York City. He received his doctorate in Sociology from the City University of New York Graduate Center in 1987. He also completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 1989. Dr. Kaplan has spent the last 34 years of his professional career as a research scientist and consultant for several non-profit and city government agencies across the social service and public health spectrum. His articles and reviews have been featured in professional journals on substance abuse treatment, vocational rehabilitation, opioid abuse, chronic pain, healthcare policy, criminal justice reform, global aging, and regional history, as well as in reference books, magazines, and New York newspapers.
