Introduction

The next stage of the Internet will be built on a plethora of multiple, different technologies working in an interoperable ecosystem. Many of these technologies are converging, creating unexpected, innovative value for society and organizations. "Sensetech" is an umbrella term that refers to the impactful nature of emerging technologies in our society and lifestyles and the different manners we sense it.

Objective

"Impacts of Sensetech in Society" is a collection of cases where emerging technologies amplify social and economic change in fields where the impact would otherwise be lower, namely by leveraging the convergence effect. These changes have both immediate consequences, as well as long-term ones whose effects are subtle and that need to be duly identified and discussed.

Target Audience

Target audience are Researchers, students and teachers connecting emerging technologies, social and economic development; researchers and professionals working with prospective scenarios; and policy makers.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 23, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 7, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 6, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Impacts of Sensetech on Society. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.

All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager.
